"The combined harmony of the special voices of the
ShneySharim along with the guitar gives those familiar songs a magical color,
at once both enchanting and heartwarming. The sound brings to mind memories
of the Dudaim, Parvarim and other musical duos and groups in the history of
Israeli folk music. Still, the versions performed by the ShneySharim are
unique and leave the listeners with an addictive yearning to hear more."

Adam Hefter
and Eli Argon, who comprise the duo The ShneySharim,
served together in an Israeli military entertainment group, Lahakat Shirion,
during 1972-74 and reunited again over 30 years later in 2006.
They premiered in an evening honoring the composer Yosef Hadar
("Erev Shel Shoshanim"). The narrator of the evening, famous composer
Nachum Haiman, invited them to record two of Hadar's songs.
The songs were published in a compilation record which was
completed only days before Hadar's passing.
With encouragement from friends and associates, The ShneySharim has
created a full show of songs and stories called "We grew up with
Israeli Folk songs." The duo continues to work with Haiman,
recording new songs and reconstructing updated versions of old songs.
The songs in the show are pure Israeli folk songs and were
chosen mainly for their musical quality and lyrical content.
The ShneySharim enhance the flavor of those popular songs by
adding rich vocal depth and colors and creating within the
audience a desire to hear more and more. Among the songs they perform are:
|
Erev Ba (Evening is coming)
Hagvaot Hakchulot (The Blue Hills)
At VaAni Veharuach (You, Me & the Wind)
|
Sadot Yerukim (Green Fields)
Rak Hed Kolech (Only your Voice's Echo)
Erev Shel Shoshanim (Evening of Roses)
|
During the show, Adam and Eli share stories
behind the songs by revealing their personal memories. Having come
from two opposite sides of the ethnic spectrum as Eli is from Morocco
and Adam is from Poland, they both made aliya to Israel in the 1950's
when they were of kindergarten age and their anecdotes from childhood,
adolescence, youth groups, and military service bring the experiences
of the Israeli melting pot to life.
The ShneySharim Show is exciting & enjoyable,
with many warm, heartfelt moments. Don't Miss it!
